Other regions such as the Black Sea coast experience more rainfall.

Turkey can be split into four main regions with regards to holiday resort areas - Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir.

The Antalya region sits alongside the Mediterranean Sea in the South of Turkey. Beautiful beaches meet stunning Turquoise waters on this stretch of coast, against a backdrop of mountain ranges to the West and East. Here you'll find popular resorts such as Side, Alanya and Lara Beach, set amidst history with many ancient sites to visit close by.

Turkey's Bodrum peninsula region has been popular with holidaymakers for many years. One of the more lively areas, with many bars and restaurants as well as sandy beaches to choose from, it is constantly in demand for cheap holidays to Turkey. Dance the night away in Bodrum or Gumbet, sun yourself on the beach in Gumbet, Bitez and Altinkum, and experience the historical sites this region has to offer.

Stretching from Antalya to Marmaris, the Dalaman region includes popular resorts such as Fethiye, Marmaris, Kalkan and Olu Deniz. Stunning sand and shingle beaches frame the coast here, with so many different resorts you'll be spoilt for choice, from the amazing beaches in Olu Deniz to the buzzing nightlife of Marmaris.

Flights to Turkey

Turkey has numerous airports, but the main international airports receiving flights from the UK can be found in Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Dalaman and Esenboga. Cheap flights to Turkey are probably best found during Spring and Autumn as opposed to the peak Summer months, but Turkey flights can generally be cheaper compared to other tourist hotspots worldwide. Turkey is considered a short haul destination from the UK, with flights lasting on average 4 hours. Flights are available in the UK from many main airports and with scheduled and charter airlines from Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Newcastle amongst others.

With so many different resorts to choose from Turkey has lots of nightlife to offer! Try the lively bars of Istanbul, Kusadasi's aptly named 'Bar St.' Bodrum with its outdoor disco and various bars and Gumbet for nightclubs and bars galore. If you fancy nightlife with more of a traditional Turkish flavor, experience one of the plentiful buffets filled with meze dishes, followed by some traditional Turkish folk dancing and revelry, offered in man of the main resorts. If you're looking for a quieter scene, head down to one of the local tavernas in one of the villages or local seafront/harbour areas.
